General Information

✗ A big bang is where people work together to enrich their fandom by writing, drawing, and creating. ✗ For this big bang in particular, authors challenge themselves to write a Pokémon fic of at least ten thousand words (or to work with another author to write at least fifteen thousand words collaboratively) over a set three-month period. Artists work with the writers to create roughly three pieces and make it a mixed-media extravaganza! People can also offer their beta-reading services.

Want to participate, but can't think of a good plot? That's what this post is for! Here you can post fic prompts for big bang writers to use. Some guidelines: ✗ This post is always open! Leave a prompt at any time. ✗ Anyone can leave a prompt, and you can leave as many prompts as you want. ✗ Remember that big bang fics have to be at least 10,000 words, so make sure your prompt has enough in it for a story that long. ✗ One prompt per comment. Anonymous commenting is preferred. ✗ Prompts should follow the general rules of the big bang—that means all verses (games, anime, manga, etc.), all pairings, all characters (including Pokémon, excepting original characters), and all ratings are allowed. (If your prompt is NSFW, please tag it as such in the subject line of your comment.) Prompts should also keep our ground rules in mind. Besides that, anything goes! ✗ If you see a prompt you want to fill, claim it by leaving an anonymous comment! Stuck on your story and just need somewhere to vent? Unsure about your characterization or how to move the plot forward? You've come to the right place! You may also find our discord server helpful to you! Some guidelines: ✗ Big bang discussion only. This includes, but is not limited to: asking for help on finding bits of canon you can't remember getting a second opinion on your storyline/characterization/etc. being stuck and needing help to move your plot forward having a writer's block and just needing to vent We realize some of you may already have betas, but for those who don't, it's an extra resource. And even for those of you who do, it might be nice to have a third or fourth opinion. ✗ We want to foster a creative and supportive atmosphere! That means if you post something, especially something asking for an opinion, expect to be critiqued. ✗ On the other hand, we do not tolerate bashing. We're not going to ask anyone to word criticism delicately for fear we are all dainty teacups, but there is a way to word things civilly and a way that's obviously not, even if it is valid criticism. Use your discretion wisely. ✗ Bashing includes: character, ship, plot, author/artist, etc. Bottom line, if you don't have anything nice or constructive to add about someone's work, then scrolling is your friend. ✗ Anonymous commenting has been left on, for those want to keep your work a surprise. ✗ Guys, anon is fun, and I also enjoy being mysterious, but remember, this isn't pokanon. Anon commenting is left on as a courtesy, not as an entitlement. The mods don't have time to police you all, so please play nicely or else we'll be forced to turn on IP tracking or turn off anon commenting period. Everyone likes nice things, so don't be the jerk who takes it away. ✗ If anyone says or does anything you're uncomfortable with, please don't hesitate to contact us so we can help you sort it out.
