This is something that occurred to me as I was playing my Pokemon Ranger game. I'm thinking an AU where Cyrus and N get taken away from their abusive families at young ages and sent off to Almia, where they're trained as rangers. Skip to the future when Cyrus is an accomplished ranger and N is a rookie who looks up to him as a mentor.
