Did someone drop out of your team at the last minute, and you're looking for a replacement? Do you have empty spaces on your team that you'd like to see filled? Do you have extra time on your hands and you'd like to lend your talents to other teams in need? Then the pinch-hit post is for you.

How this works:

✗ This post is open until July 6.

✗ Anybody can take any position. For example, if you're signed up for the big bang as a writer, but you also have art or beta-reading skills that you'd like to put to good use, then you can take on open art or beta-reading positions for other teams.

✗ Remember that the "artist" category is extremely loosely defined—graphic design, fanmixing, illustration, sculpture, etc. all count. If you have any artistic skill, there's no reason you can't use it here.

✗ A team is full when it has four members: one writer, two artists, and one beta-reader; or two writers, one artist, and one beta-reader.

✗ You don't have to post here if your team is happy as it is (or if you don't want a team at all). If you were unsuccessful in attracting attention during the match-up post, you can post here and see if you can get any new interest.

✗ Recruiters:

✗ The recruiter will then send out PMs to the people who left claims to start discussing things privately. At this point you can exchange contact information (e-mails, IMs) if you wish.

✗ If, during these initial talks, it becomes clear that a match-up isn't clicking, that's fine. Just delete your claim on the story's ad. This signals that there is now a spot free for other interested parties.

✗ Keep checking back and/or track this post to keep abreast of any changes in the advertisements or claims.

Title: And Miles To Go
Verse: Games - III/IV/V
Rating: R
Characters/Pairings: Green, Red, Leaf, Ethan, Pikachu, Eevee. Established Leaf/Green; other pairings develop during the course of the fic.

Summary: After Red's descent from Mt. Silver, Leaf leads him, Green, and a rather unexpected tagalong on a road trip through Unova. Red is aimless, Ethan wants what he can't have, Leaf hopes for the best, and Green isn't sure where he stands anymore.
Snippet:
Leaf leans forward and presses a kiss to his cheek before heading for the elevator. Red looks up from the floor, staring as she walks away.

A moment of silence passes as Green waits for Red to step out the door. He busies himself with - rather pointedly - pulling his keys out of his pocket, but Red remains where he is, staring.

After a few seconds, Green looks up and meets his eyes. “Are you coming or not?”

Red doesn’t reply, staring in that unnervingly flat way of his.

Green bristles, his hands squeezing into fists. “What?”

The former Champion raises a finger and points at Green’s chest. “Your tie,” says Red, “is ugly.”

Green stares for a moment in silence before turning away. “Thanks for the fashion advice,” he grits out.

The other man shrugs and - finally - makes his way out of the apartment.

Sticking his key into the lock rather viciously, Green runs his tongue over the pointed edges of his teeth and resolves, bitterly, to count the hours until they can return home.

Author's Notes: Since there are two of us working on this fic, and also because we're writing pretty quickly to try and meet the deadline, we would love to have a beta-reader who can not only help smooth out any potential difficulties in making our writing styles fit well, but also catch little speed-typos, missing words, accidental tense changes, etc. Again, we'd like a beta who's familiar with all the characters involved in the fic, since we're digging pretty deeply into their heads. Pacing and imagery is important to us, so we hope it'll be important to you, too! We'd appreciate anybody who could help us out, and we're looking forward to working with you!

I've never read a road trip fic before, so it sounds pretty interesting. Sure, count me in. :D

Summary: A year after the events of B/W 1, N returns to Unova bent on converting the entire region to follow his ideals of Pokemon liberation through Dream Smoke mass inception. Alder plans a counter-inception with Black, but will the mission be completed when Black's late twin starts showing up?
Snippet:

One of Black’s earliest memories is of a large ship. Sometimes he can almost taste the ocean air on his tongue and hear a girl laughing behind his ear as he stared into the infinite horizon and puked.

“I was barely one week into my title when he requested I pull a few strings and grant him sanctuary for him and his family. In exchange, he said he was going to help me defend my mind...
“...He took me into the dream world...And on the last day I saw him, he asked me if his side job--extraction--is possible, shouldn’t the other way round work as well? Inception. It never left my mind, even after the dreaming took him away.”

...“So you think because my father’s extraction skills got him to abandon his home, his son would inherit his mastery of dream exploitation?”

...Madness, Black thinks. ...Logically, after his father’s departure, Black would swear to never play with the fire he lost his father to, and figuratively bury dream exploration deep into the ground. But he was still a child, a child with imagination, and he had no need for books or friends when he could create better worlds in his dreams.

And he wasn’t always alone.
