This is where writers, artists, and beta-readers find other people to work in teams with. Here's how this works:
✗ This match-up post is open for the duration of the event, and updates periodically to let you know if there are changes in team composition. Artists and beta-readers may claim prompts at any time, assuming there's space on the team.
✗ Commenting here means you're willing to have other people depend on you to do your share of the work. Don't comment here until you're sure that you want to follow through with the big bang. (And if you do drop, please let us know?)
✗ Keep in mind that a team can have four people max—- Two writers, one artist, one beta-reader
- One writer, two artists, one beta-reader
- And less is okay too (for example, one artist and one author)
✗ Writers:- You must have at least 1,000 words written before you post here. Similarly, you're under no obligation to post here. There's nothing wrong with wanting to work alone.
- The match-up post opens on June 2, but it's okay if you're late. Just comment here when you're ready.
- All comments you leave on this post should be anonymous.
- To start, leave an anonymous comment on this post advertising your story. (It's okay if a lot of the information you have is tenuous/open to change. Just do your best.)

- Once that's done, browse through the story ads! Feel free to ask questions, if you'd like (anonymous or not, your call).
- If you are an artist or beta-reader under 18 years of age, do not claim prompts with ratings higher than T or PG-13.
- If you decide that you want to join a team, leave a SIGNED-IN reply on the ad that uses the subject header "ARTIST/BETA-READER CLAIM" (whichever applies to you).
- You can only pick one story to work on, so choose wisely!
- Don't feel obligated to take on a project. If nothing appeals to you, that's okay.
- Remember this is first-come, first-serve. If you see that there are already two artists on a project or another beta-reader on a project, scroll on by.
✗ Writers will then PM the claiming artists and beta-readers to talk/plan privately. At this point you can exchange contact information (e-mail, IM, etc.) if you wish. If you'd like the mods to set up a private channel on our discord server for your team, just let us know.
✗ If, during these initial talks, it becomes clear that a match-up isn't clicking, that's fine. Just delete your claim on the story's ad. This signals that there is now a spot free for other interested parties.
✗ As you can see, a lot of this is nebulous—therefore, please keep checking this post! As time goes on, new story ads may be posted, spaces may open up on stories you were interested in, and new claims may be made. Just keep looking.

The Stars and The Ancient Past (Paul/Ash)

Characters/Pairings: Paul/ Ash (Comashipping); Professor Oak, Gary Oak, Reggie, Brock, and some characters introduced during the Diamond and Pearl series.

Summary: Ash returned to Sinnoh after almost four years – not to compete in the region's league, but to accompany Professor Oak who had been invited to conduct a series of lectures – and thought nothing much had changed in the region until he ran into a Pokémon Ranger whose purple hair reminded Ash of someone from his past. After chasing a girl who could throw a mist ball, Ash was thrown back into a flurry of adventure involving a handful of special and Legendary Pokémon, a new bounty hunter, a mysterious scientist and an old rival.
Snippet:
Ash rushed over to the riverbank. The young girl he saw earlier was kneeling on the ground, her head bent, hand over the wounded spot on her arm. With cautious steps, Ash approached her, said, "Hey, are you okay?" in a soft, congenial voice.
The girl snapped her head up to look at Ash, her bright amber eyes shining. Then she whirled around at the sound of voices, hollering, "There she is!"
Ash followed her gaze and saw around five men in red and black overall suits. They had their weapons aimed at the girl but she was quick to jump up on her feet and disappear behind the thick cluster of trees.
Two of the men fired their guns but instead of bullets, white beam of light cut through the air, hitting tree trunks.
"Pikachu, thunderbolt!" Ash yelled, raising his hand to gesture at the five men.
Pikachu dashed toward the edge of the river, bellowing, "Pi… ka…chu!" as bolts of electricity shot out from his cheeks, hitting the men before they could even aim their weapons at him.

Artists: Though this is based on anime, the setting is years into Ash's future so I hope for an artist who can draw a quite attractive Ash and Paul in their mid or late teens.
Beta-readers: I am fairly aware of the do's-and-don'ts in creative writing but this is fan fiction and I wish to write in a more lax or lenient way so a beta who won't burst a blood vessel over sentences that start with conjunctions (but, and) will be a dear. And one who can edit a fic using 'track changes' and 'insert comment' (if necessary) in Word will be awesome.

But here I am! This story is intriguing and I have to admit, I want to know more about that girl. And the others, but really, I kind of want to draw that girl.

Kyogre's Ambition

Rating: Probably PG, maybe PG-13. Lots of death and general destruction, but I don't like to describe violence in gory detail.
Characters/Pairings: Celebi, Ho-Oh, Kyogre, Red, Archie, Nobunaga, Mitsuhide.
Summary:
Ho-oh returns, but Johto is in mortal peril. Team Aqua, led by Kyogre, is sailing north, and Hoenn has been drowned. Called by Celebi, Sengoku-era generals appear in modern times – to save the world, or to rule it.
Snippet:
But no victories over Aqua Grunts or even their leadership would ever stop the rain. Nothing would, so long as Kyogre lived.
And no one in Hoenn had any hope of stopping Kyogre. When the rain covered the last mountaintop – and day after day, as more refugees came and more hapless trainers drowned, the mountaintops grew smaller and smaller – Team Aqua would sail north.
And Kyogre would be with them. And if Kyogre wasn't stopped, Johto would share Hoenn's fate.
If the world survived, historians and archaeologists would do extensive research to determine the precise number of dead in Hoenn. The land had not had a proper census in decades, so even the percentage was guesswork. But when one extrapolates from the number of refugees found in Kanto, Johto, and Sinnoh, it is quite reasonable to conclude that only half of Hoenn's people escaped alive.
Forty days and forty nights after the flood began, the birds stopped coming. But there was no Ark, no Ararat, and no rainbow, just a great bird with rainbow wings determined to fight back.
Hoenn was no more.
A/N: This fic uses characters from Pokemon Conquest in prominent roles. I have not yet played Pokemon Conquest, because it comes out on June 18th in my country. I wouldn't be doing this fic now if I didn't feel confident I could meet the deadline, but this does put a damper on how much I can get done early on.

Feel free to criticize on segments that need reworking/don't belong in the story. Summary: After Red's descent from Mt. Silver, Leaf leads him, Green, and a rather unexpected tagalong on a road trip through Unova. Red is aimless, Ethan wants what he can't have, Leaf hopes for the best, and Green isn't sure where he stands anymore.
Snippet:
The air mattress is lumpy tonight. The ground is harder than usual here up north, and Green is glad for the blanket they bought in Driftveil—and for Leaf at his back, who radiates heat.
She makes a soft noise, pressing closer. Her hand moves along his side, skimming over the soft divot between his ribs and hipbones, and comes to rest on his upper thigh. Green scoots back, feeling her soft shape press against his spine. A kiss is pressed between his shoulder blades, and he shivers lightly.
He opens his eyes. Through a narrow gap in the tent flap, Red's lighted tent draws his gaze.
"Hmm?" Leaf murmurs, feeling the tension suddenly sag from Green's body.
He turns onto his back and Leaf willingly accomodates him, draping an arm across his chest, her toes curling around his ankle.
"Not tonight," he says.
"Okay," Leaf replies. She kisses his cheek, more sleepy than fond, and nestles into the pillow.
Green turns his head and stares at the distant light.

Beta-readers: There are currently no beta readers working on this project, but we are excited to work with one on this! This is being written in the third person limited, present tense, and from shifting perspectives. Since this is a road trip that simultaneously develops the relationships and friendships between each of the four characters, it would be great to work with a beta who has a good eye for pacing and imagery. It would also be great if you have can point out any significant stylistic discrepancies and help find a way to reconcile them, should they exist. Summary: Years in the future, the savior of the world and her loyal partner head a guild of their own, helping those in need and training the new generations of rescue teams. Their reputation attracts a pair of new recruits, who turn out to be very familiar faces.
(TL;DR version: The main characters of Mystery Dungeon live long enough to see Grovyle and the human version of the hero be born. Shenanigans ensue.)
Snippet: It’s harder getting up these days. Charizard can feel her age in her bones, her muscles, the knotting pain in her back when she uncurls herself in the morning. It doesn’t seem fair, sometimes; she did so much for time, and yet it’s still screwing her over just like every other sorry sucker in the world.
Or maybe she’s just whining again.
“Hey, wake up!” There’s a hurried knock on the door, and the Meganium bursts into the room, smiling and full of bright, sunny energy.
Charizard groans and buries her head under her wing.
“Ugh, how do I even stand you?” Meganium frowns. “There’s things to be done and adventures to be had! Don’t you ever feel bad for being so lazy?”
“Nope.” Charizard forces her head even deeper against her body, all too aware what Meganium’s next weapon will be.
Sure enough, two olive green vines worm their way under Charizard’s protective wing and loop themselves around the prongs on the back of her head.
“Come on,” Meganium says, straining backwards with all her strength. “You are going to get up, and for once in your life you are going to act like the head of the Explorer’s Guild and not some snorlax who wandered into this office by mistake!”

Beta-readers: I could really use a beta to doublecheck my story for SPaG, awkward sentences, and things that just don't work. Also, if any potential beta's interested, I would love someone who could bounce ideas back and forth about the plot! I have a general outline down, just not the specifics.

Summary: Giovanni and Ghetsis have come to an uneasy truce in conquering Unova --- by cloning Pokemon and distributing firearms they have essentially taken over both League and local governance. While they seek to consolidate power and spread their reign to the other League Regions, various pockets of resistance loosely organized by Looker and Cynthia work against them, and Silver, Black, and N try to take them down the old-fashioned way: Collecting League Badges to challenge Giovanni's status as Unova Champion.

Summary: There was a time when competing in the Pokemon League was every trainer’s dream. To stand upon the winner’s podium after surviving rounds of grueling battle, bathed in loud lights and even louder screams, and claiming the title of Pokemon Champion - that was the final destination for many aspiring trainers.
That League is no more.
When the despotic Team Rocket rose to power, the League underwent a terrible transformation.
Now, representatives are sent annually from each of the ten cities in Kanto to the Indigo Plateau to participate in the new League where they will battle each other for the title of Champion. Unlike the past Leagues, however, these fights are to the death. The participants are forced to eliminate their competition, and the last trainer standing is crowned the new Champion and awarded riches to last a lifetime.
This year, Red is selected as Pallet Town’s representative, despite his best efforts to do otherwise. In just a few days he will be catapulted into a ruthless arena against bigger, stronger opponents, where his only option is to fight or die. Worse, he is paired with a rebellious pokemon who refuses to obey his instructions. Red will have to learn to overcome these odds quickly as he is thrust into a world that would change his life forever.
