(Anonymous) 2012-03-22 04:40 am (UTC)(link)Where Gold is Apollo, Crystal is Artemis, Silver is Hephaestus, Blue is Aphrodite, Green is Ares, Yellow is Demeter or Hestia (or Persephone to Lance's Hades), Platina is Athena, Pearl is Hermes, Diamond is Dionysus, Ruby is Zeus, and Sapphire is Hera. I haven't been able to think of assignments for any of the other characters, so it's up to you; or if you don't like any of those, switch them up, it's your fic!
Just think of all the things you can do with this AU. Retell any of the Greek myths, like the birth and childhood of Dionysus, or Hermes teaching Apollo how to play the lyre. Incorporate the teams of Pokémon as humans and retell any of the more human-based myths. Put a new spin on the Trojan War. I think my favorite idea is the Yellow/Lance one, because exploring their characters from this new angle would be awesome. Discuss Silver and Blue being in a loveless marriage, and then Silver falls madly in love with the new God, Crystal, and woos her by making her weapons like the world has never seen before. Perhaps the story of Pygmalion (Emerald) and Galatea (Sapphire)?

Obviously, they would have continued on their paths from the time. That is, Ruby as a battle crazy kid and Sapphire as a fashionable girl.
Second, when the Salamence attacked, Ruby was the one who defeated it, but in the process, he also caused Rayquaza to be released. Norman claimed responsibility and was sent away for several years to track it down.
If none of that had happened, Norman would have gone on to become the Gym Leader of Goldenrod City, with Ruby as his eager heir.
Explore! I'd love to see the results of this one.

(Anonymous) 2012-03-22 04:41 am (UTC)(link)Silver and his friends go to a dress-up dinner - except things go badly awry when a group of armed gunmen stroll in and shoot most of the people, including someone very important to Silver. The poor guy, who is the only person completely unscathed, swears vengeance and becomes determined to discover who did it.
If I were writing this, the person close to Silver would be either Lyra or Blue, depending on gameverse or mangaverse. And the person who had them killed would be a very unsympathetic Giovanni, whom Silver would ultimately discover that he can't kill. But that's just my style. You can do what you like.
Your choice. It would work with either mangaverse or gameverse (or I suppose animeverse, too, if you wanted to use Paul or something like that IDK).

Here'r some ideas for roommates and majors:
- Bill and Celio; both majoring in Computer Science
- Daisy, Shelly, Courtney, Jasmine; sorority and roommates; enjoy takng part in contests together
- Misty; athletic scholarship, majoring in Marine Biology
- Eusine and Morty; both majoring in History
- Brock; majoring in Geology
- Brigette and Lanette; twins and roommates; both majoring in Com Sci
- Volkner, Flint, Sidney; fraternity and roommates; trying to start a band together
Lots of crazy, kookie ideas for this. Unfortunately, I could never think of a suitable conflict, so I'm passing it along to anyone who wants it!

Explain why Proton - or one of the other admins - took that job, what they were doing before... anything. For that matter, you could explore how Giovanni BECAME the boss of Team Rocket, especially since he has a young son.
Of course, it doesn't have to be JUST Team Rocket. You could use any evil organization.
Alternately...
Tell any character's story as to how they became Gym Leader / Elite Four / Champion. Opposite side of the equation, y'know.

This is not one of those stories.
What if, instead of the hero being transformed, his/her partner Pokemon was the one who must save the world? (Partner extending to the companion Pokemon selected at the beginning, as well as Grovyle from Time/Darkness/Sky.)
Pokemon ----> amnesiac human.
From there, it's up to you, haha.

(Anonymous) 2012-03-22 04:44 am (UTC)(link)Basically, child character resents the influence of his/her parents and wants to make a name for him/herself. Unfortunately, that's tricky.
Tricky prompt, because most of the kids of heroes would be considered OCs. But if you can find a character whose parents are well-known in the Pokemon world (such as the Hoenn heroes with Norman and Prof. Birch) then you could use this prompt.
I'd love to see it and all the feelings of resentment toward parental figures!

I'd love to see a fic exploring those years when he was trying to raise his siblings on his own while taking command of the Pewter Gym. Also, we know he much prefers caring for pokémon rather than battling, so maybe we can see him solidify that desire as he fights to maintain his family and their gym. Maybe we could see him capture Geodude?

FireRed: It happened one morning - a boy with extrasensory powers awoke in bed transformed into Kadabra.
Emerald: It is rumored that a boy with psychic abilities suddenly transformed into Kadabra while he was assisting research into extrasensory powers.
Granted, lots of pokédex entries are logically ridiculous (ponyta jumping over Ayers Rock, grimer mutating thanks to x-rays from the moon, etc.), but even if it doesn't make sense it's always struck me as an interesting idea, and one I'm surprised more people haven't tried to work with.
So! Tell us about the Amazing Kadabraboy! What was he like before this mysterious transformation? How did it happen? Where is he now? Does he want to find a way to return to his original form, or is he enjoying being a pokémon more than he'd originally thought? (Did he even like pokémon before this happened to him?) Maybe he's a well-kept dark secret in the family of one of the psychic-type trainers... or not that well kept. Maybe he's even attracted the attention of the collector of some particularly rare and unusual pokémon... I could go on and on, but I'm sure you can think of other directions to take this, too!
I'd really love to see someone else's take on this. :) Have at it!

I once saw a comic where Gold is a hardcore fudanshi (yaoi fanboy) and shut-in/hikikomori (when Silver visits, Gold's mom informs him that her son hasn't left his room since he came back last time and while it's not mentioned how long it looks like 2 or 3 years... or even longer). Because it's the only place I ever saw a yaoi fan male protagonist (it's usually the female protag), it'll be interesting if anyone tackles this.

(Anonymous) 2012-03-22 04:52 am (UTC)(link)So, when Green and Red are younger, say five or so, they "run away" with Pikachu and Eevee for a few hours. However, it starts to rain and they get lost in the forest and stumble upon some Rocket grunts doing some some shady stuff, and proceed to try to fight them. They almost lose, but then Giovanni steps in to "save" them. Green runs his mouth and basically lets it known that he's actually Professor Oak's grandson, so Giovanni decides to take them captive and use them as a bargaining chip.
Their kidnapping ends up all over the news though, and Giovanni feels that it would be unwise to put TR in such a situation and decides to absorb Green and Red into the team. When the time comes, Leaf is the only trainer to leave from Pallet town (with a Bulbasaur? you choose!) and other than a few brushes with TR, doesn't interact with them much before she becomes champion.
Green and Red, however, prove to be excellent trainers and quickly rise through the ranks despite their young age. Because of they're so young, they also easily absorb Team Rocket's doctrine and believe what they're doing is "right". Eventually Giovanni decides to name Green his successor and takes him away to Johto to groom him, and leaves Red in charge of TR in Kanto.
It basically turns out that him "grooming" Green is really Green looking after his son, Silver, who at first is rebellious and angry at Green for displacing him. After Green saves him from a couple of grunt bullies though, Silver comes to admire and hero worship him.
After some events, Giovanni ends up having to go into hiding, and Green and Silver go back to Kanto where Green was planning to take the job as TR's leader, but finds that Red has already pretty much earned all of TR's respect and control. So Green is just like *shrugs* and runs Viridian's gym as the gym leader which actually has a secret Pokemon testing facility in its basement.
All the while, though, they've cast aside Pikachu and Eevee and forgotten the power of ~true friendship~ and ~believing in your Pokemon~ because TR has taught them that Pokemon are just tools to be used to reach an end. ...and then stuff that's actually the plot happens.
...sorry for the ridiculously long set-up. LMAO, if any part of that speaks to you, feel free to try it out. The tl;dr version of the prompt is basically: PC and/or Rival gets kidnapped at young age by evil team in the plot and indoctrinated with the team's mission at a young age; how would that change the plot (lots, obvs).

Maybe a random Character of the Day falls in love with a drop-dead gorgeous woman and they spend time dating, falling in love, etc. until one day they figure out the truth. Maybe a random adult male character like a Gym Leader/Frontier Brain/Elite/Champion/Evil team leader has a wife we never saw with a mysterous past and they unravel the mystery. Maybe one of the main characters grows up and...you get the idea. The repercussions of the discovery can also be considered (Is the main character angry? Upset? Suprised? All of the above? Does anyone else learn of it? Does the Ninetales leave, and if so, does the main character get upset about that?) although if you can manage 10,000 on just the dating/falling in love part with the revelation as the "sting" then go right ahead.
Of course, the fic would have to have the canon character as the main focus of the fic, with maybe the reader working out the mysteries alongside him (or her, considering that Ninetales have the 25 percent chance of being male). The fic could be set in any canon (games, anime, manga) but might work a tad better for the anime, and the main character focused on could be a CotD/Gym Leader/Brain/Elite/Champion/Evil team leader of your choice.
For a more "trickster" variety you could use Zoroark in place of Ninetales (working the concept a little differently to play up Zoroark's darker image).
tl;dr prompt: Apply the real life kitsune legends to Ninetales from the "point-of-view" of the main canon character.

So what I want is Yellow and N meeting and slowly developing a friendship before one day N disappears without a word on her because Ghethis took him back to Unova. Something cute and fluffy, but still introspective at the same time.

He/she finds Ghetsis, finds the Shadow Triad, and even finds Anthea and Concordia. But every time he/she asks about N, he/she is met with confusion (e. g. "N? Who is that?"). Everyone he/she asks about just stares at him/her and doesn't know how to answer; Ghetsis keeps insisting that he does not have a son, Cheren is unaware of any involvement on N's part, and Bianca is just worried for Hilda/Hilbert.
Where do you go from there, anons? :)

If they are all of the same organization, they can go on about world domination while the old allies (Blue, Green, Gold, Kris, etc.) are rebels who oppose them. If they are of different organizations, they could fight each other for territory.
As a side note, Red, Ruby and Silver may have red eyes in certain canons, right? It's often their battle aura of sort. Someone can take this idea, mix it with the evil organization leader one and run with it. You can even glide off a cliff with it.

This is tearing apart the region of Hoenn, taking children from their families... and what about the new recruits? Of course, I'm referring to Ruby/Brendan as a Magma member and Sapphire/May as an Aqua member.
By 'gang', I'm talking about the kind of gang you hear about in the news. This is no longer kid-friendly.
(How else do you explain the matching hoodies and bandanas, anyway?!)

The deeper layers of Team Plasma are explored, if it is possible, and it would be just effing awesome if you could throw in a bit of implied Black/N onesided fluff...where it's N who's remotely confused about his feelings and decided to explain it all with his genius speech. He fails though.
I typically see N portrayed as this innocent, pure, almost childlike figure. I prefer not to see this because it pisses me off. Make him dark and have the markings of an antagonist, but retain his innocence when it comes to practical matters. Also, everyone knows N is a judgemental misanthrope right?
It starts with Accumula and ends at the parting at the Pokemon League. An epilougue would be awesome too. Have N narrate in a first person perspective as if he were writing his memoirs.
This fandom needs moar interaction between Cyrus and N!
